Plants That Attract Birds

Developing a landscape or backyard to attract and feed birds does not have to be difficult or labor intensive. It can be as easy as planting one or more plants that serve as a food source or safe harbor for nesting. Involve children in the process and they too will become excited in watching the birds arrive in the yard. Keep in mind that during the winter months, if all of the food on the plants has been eaten, you might want to add supplemental bird food (i.e. birdfeeders) to keep birds coming year round. This is especially true the months of February to April when new growth (and food sources) begins to reappear.
